| 2010-05-14 |
How can you protect your BRAND?
RAPEX Annual Report of the European Commission showed a significant increase in notifications for textiles and clothing during 2009 (compared with 2008).
The product category “Toy” remains the most notified (28%) but this year it is closely followed by “Clothing, Textiles and Fashion items” (23%).
During 2009, 395 out of 1993 NOTIFICATIONS (23%) are related to textile products with particular reference to "drawstrings" and the consequent strangulation hazard and the use of dimethylfumarate (DMF) with chemical risks.
Prevent PROBLEMS ON THE MARKET through a PRELIMINARY ANALYSIS (RAP) of your products carried out by our SAFETY EXPERTS
Our Risk Assessment TEAM is at your disposal for safety evaluations of your products, directly at your company’s or at our ICQ main office in Italy (near Como).
DRAWSTRINGS and CORDS
European Standard EN 14682 (Safety of CHILDREN'S CLOTHING - Cords and
drawstrings on children's clothing - Specifications) is applicable to:
- daywear and nightwear apparel,
- ski apparel,
- disguise costumes.
Do you export your products to USA? We are expert in CPSC drawstrings requirements too.
SMALL PARTS RESISTANCE
ICQ takes part at the European Technical Group which is developing a SAFETY GUIDELINE to prevent, among the others, the chocking risk due to small parts in
children’s apparel.
We recommend to pay attention at the presence of small parts in your baby and children clothing and accessories.
