| U.S. MARKET - News concerning sales, distribution, and import of FOOTWEAR FOR CHILDREN in U.S. market. |
| 2009-02-04 |
IISG/ICQ is the first European group that has been accredited in the list of the CPSC laboratories.
Since November 12 2008, footwear for children must be accompanied by a certificate of conformity that the product complies with all the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) regulations.
This certificate must contain various informations regarding the product, the safety of the product and the manufacturer.
In order to fill up the certificate of conformity, the product must be subjected to specific tests, such as:
- chemical tests (for example: total lead and lead in paint)
- physical-mechanical test.
These tests must be performed by a CPSC accredited laboratory, when required.
We underline that, starting from August 14 2009, the current maximum limit of lead in paint will decrease to 90 ppm and products not in compliance with the new limit can no longer be sold, distributed, marketed and imported in the U.S. market.
We are at your complete disposal for further informations.
