The requirements in BS 7177 have been updated.
The levels of ignition resistance have been set after careful consideration of the fire risk of the particular end-use environment involved, from very low hazard of domestic dwellings to very high hazard of prison cells.
All filling material shall pass also the relevant test given in the “Furniture and Furnishing Regulation 1988”.
NETHERLANDS MARKET: DAYWEAR CLOTHING
From 1st May 2008 there is a new flammability requirements for daywear clothing to be sell on Netherlands. The flammability test is conducted according to ASTM D 1230 test method.
Clothing made entirely from any of the following fibres: acrylic, modacrylic, nylon, olefin, polyester and wool.
